Edgar Allan Poe/Sullivan's Island Library - Join Sarah Díaz, Sullivan's Island native and local bird expert, to learn about how bird banding is used to study and track migratory birds in the maritime forest. Local conservation efforts and information about how you can protect migratory birds will also be discussed.

Sarah Díaz has an undergraduate degree in biology from the College of Charleston and a master's degree in biology from the Citadel Graduate College. She is a Certified Landbird Trainer for the North American Banding Council and has more than 14 years of experience banding birds in a variety of locations, including South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, Costa Rica, Belize and Perú.
