I hope that you are all doing well at home - perhaps exploring some of the library's digital services while we await the passing of the COVID-19 crisis.
During the week of March 23-27, library staff will be doing assignments from home. This will allow the building to receive a deep cleaning. Please keep all your library materials at home - don't drop them off in the book drop. If staff aren't able to empty it regularly, they will likely fill up. We don't want anyone to just leave bags of returns outside, where they could get damaged by weather or stolen - just hang on to your items until we return. There won't be any late fees on anything, so don't worry about that.
The Wilbraham Public Library offers a variety of digital resources - for learning, entertainment, and research. But, we can't offer everything. I always like to remind people that as a Massachusetts resident, you are eligible to receive an "e-card" from the Boston Public Library. Go to www.bpl.org and complete the online application. You will receive a card number instantly via email that is ready to use on all the resources that the Boston Public Library has to offer. (The BPL receives special funding as the Library of the Commonwealth to serve all Massachusetts residents.) One of the resources that they offer is PressReader, which offers full image newspapers from all over the world. If you want to learn more about how COVID-19 is affecting other countries, this is a good place to start.
I'll keep you all updated as anything changes. You can always reach the library via email at reference@wilbrahamlibrary.org or through our social media pages.
