 SUMMER READING LIST 2022
 
This Summer Reading List is designed for students entering Grade 7 in September 2022. Each novel has been linked to the Middle School Pillars of Courage, Honesty, Respect, and Service. If your child needs assistance understanding the definition of these words please refer to the dictionary.
 
Your mission:
  1. Read at least two novels you haven't read before. Try to read books from different genres and authors.
  2. Choose from the amazing novels on this list or any book in a series on the list OR choose to read Young Adult (YA) novels from any of the featured Canadian authors listed below. 
  3. As you read, decide which Middle School pillar is most represented by the main character. Support your opinion with evidence from the novel.
  4. In September, you will participate in a variety of activities based on your summer reading novel(s) in your Humanities class.         
  5. OPTIONAL:  Once you finish a book, complete one or more of the optional activities. For every completed activity you hand-in to Ms. Bailey during the first week back to school, you will receive a ticket for the Summer Reading Prize draw.      
Whatever adventures await you this summer, you will find novels and authors on this list that you’ll be excited to tell your friends about in September. Grab your book, kick back and enjoy the journey.
