Winter Reading Challenge Wrap-Up
Stop by your local library for the Cup O' Cheer Winter Reading Celebration! Tasty beverages and treats will be provided, while supplies last.  
 
Kids & Teens can pick up their free books for completing the Winter Reading Challenge, and we'll be celebrating the success of reaching our community-wide reading goal of 100,000 minutes.

Read to a trained therapy dog! Prereaders, early readers, and independent readers are invited to read (or show pictures to) to our friendly and non-judgmental dogs.
 
No registration necessary.

Read Up For Fun! Join us in reading to the therapy animals and to participate in fun crafts! In partnership with library staff, volunteers and the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.

Collage Club (GV)
Tuesdays, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Ready to become a collage artist? All you need are paper, scissors, and glue! The best part? You don't have to worry about making a mistake! With collage, you can play around with composition, balance, color, and pattern until it feels right. Join us each week where we'll provide the space, supplies and an optional prompt so your creativity can come alive through collage.
Tech It Out (MH) Intro to Windows 10
Friday, January 14, 10:00 pm - 12:00 pm
This program is an introduction to the basics of using Microsoft Windows 10. It will cover using Windows 10 Start Page, App Store, Photos, Maps Edge, Cortana and Important Settings and Updates.
 
The library has laptop Macs available to use during this program or you are welcome to bring your own.
Book Clubs
Next Chapter Book Club (TR)
Tuesday, January 11th & 25th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
This book club is for people with IDD (intellectual & developmental disabilities) to read, learn, and make friends in a relaxed community setting.  NCBC provides an opportunity for those with IDD to experience community inclusion, social connectedness, and lifelong learning.  Call the Truckee Library for meeting locations (530) 582-7846.

Forever Young Book Club (GV)

Explore your affinity for teen literature—and the crossover books that are written for grown-ups but approachable to teens.

Penn Valley Page Turners Book Club (PV)
Thursday, January 27, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM  
Meet at the Penn Valley Library to discuss good books with other Penn Valley patrons. January's Penn Valley Page Turners book is "The Four Winds" by Kristin Hannah.
Patrons need to register for the book club meeting as space is limited. Registered patrons will be sent an email notification 24 hours prior to the scheduled event.
