On March 13, 2020, all local library branches were closed due to COVID-19. On Thursday, May 14, Premier Ford announced Phase 1 of Ontario’s reopening plan, which listed services and industries that can resume some form of service as of May 19. Libraries were included in this list for curbside pickup.

Staff of the County of Lennox & Addington Libraries have developed a plan to launch limited curbside service beginning on June 1st.

In order to ensure the safety of both staff and patrons, we've created procedures for contactless curbside pickup and returns processing.

A few things to remember:

  • Please wait for us to contact you with your available hours for pickup
  • Because we are dealing with a high volume of returns, and we quarantining returned materials for 72 hours, it may take several days or more for items to be removed from your account once returned
  • Please don't overfill the box or leave materials outside. Our boxes are checked regularly, but we expect a high volume of returns. If the bin is full, please take your materials home and try again another time. Rest assured that you will not be charged fines
  • We are not accepting donations at this time
  • Please practice physical distancing when arriving at the library - keep two meters away from others and do not loiter around the pick up table, branch entrances, or drop boxes
  • If you have materials to return, please place them directly in the drop box. Do not attempt to hand your materials to staff
  • Your patience is appreciated as we work out the kinks of implementing curbside service
