Local Author Talk: Susan Grout's "Small Town Therapist's Red Hot Tips" Sunday, June 21st 3:00pm - 4:00pm Friday Harbor's Susan Grout has a new book! She tells some funny stories (and even shares some poetry) and some of the grief she experienced along the way. Her presentation will feature vignettes of some friends and family you may know, whose identities, of course, will be disguised to protect their privacy. Included are many stories about life then and now. The book gives specific tips on how to create a happier, healthier life.

Wednesday Afternoon Performance Kick Off with Hillia Hula and Friends Wednesday, June 24th 1:30pm - 2:45pm Come see Hillia, known professionally as "Hillia Hula Hoop Extraordinaire," a professional multi-hula hoop artist and performer based in Ellensburg, Washington. She is widely recognized for her dynamic, family-friendly performances that combine complex hula hoop tricks, comedy, and audience participation. Wednesday Afternoon Performances are free, offered to all ages, and held outdoors at the FHES Outdoor Play Shed. The Outdoor Play Shed is a covered area behind the elementary school, with access to parking, restrooms, and water fountains. Please bring chairs and blankets for seating. Showtimes begin at 1:30 PM and last approximately 45 minutes. Funding is provided by Friends of the San Juan Island Library as part of the Library's Annual Summer Reading Program. No prior registration is required to attend.

Teen Stone Mosaics Friday, June 26th 3:30pm-5:30pm Teens & Tweens, drop by to do some stone mosaic crafting, eat some snacks, and hang out with friends. Use different colored stones to make pieces of art! All supplies, including glow in the dark stones will be available.

Poetry Workshop with Anis Mojgani and IVLC Saturday, June 27th 12:00pm-2:00pm Bring your pad and your pen and awe-ready eyes for a free poetry workshop with Poetry slam legend Anis Mojgani. This event is made possible by San Juan County through its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) and the Tulalip Tribes Charitable Contributions Fund. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time. We begin our workshops together and build momentum from the opening moment.

But family obligations are family obligations, and it's only for a short time. So he leaves his mom, his brother, and his other friends behind for a week in the woods. Only... one morning he wakes up and the house isn't where it was before. It's like it's been lifted and placed... somewhere else. When Xavier, his dad, and Nia go explore, they find they are inside a dome, trapped. And there's no one else around. , three years later, another family arrives. Is there any escape?
