STAFF PICK

Late Migrations by Margaret Renkl

"Late Migrations by Margaret Renkl is a memoir that is both a love letter to the natural world and an intimate portrait of love and loss. Navigating the different seasons of life is bittersweet for everyone, and Renkl writes of her experiences in such a beautiful and heartfelt way. Her observations of the world, from her childhood in rural Alabama to navigating the changing landscape of aging and dying parents, are lyrically profound, yet honest and relatable. She expertly weaves the subtle

nuances of nature into her life experiences in a way that made me reflect on my own memories differently. It validated my own wonder for the natural world and reaffirmed for me the beauty in its constant, simplistic magic. This book forced me to do what so many of us struggle to do: slow down. I wanted to fully absorb her beautifully written words. It isn’t a book to devour; it is one to savor."
