Weekly Round-Up
May 16, 2020
Building community by sharing the wonders of learning, creating and connecting with one another.

Hello South Country Community,

We've got lots of new programs and information this week. Up front, make sure to check out our updated YouTube page with archived programs (including last week's Mindful Eating with Chef Robert). And back by popular demand...a new Savvy Sightseer's Virtual Vacation and a YA Escape the Library! Plus new book discussions happening in June for both adults & teens -- better get reading!

Then in Staying Stable, we're sharing free online classes on nutrition and emergency-preparedness, legal assistance from Touro Law School, a new hotline to report scam-attempts, and all the usual useful links.

Finally, don't miss Leisure & Learning at the bottom, with more trivia, a craft for kids, and a fantastic new cell phone walking tour of the Bellport-Brookhaven Hamlet!

We hope you've been enjoying the lovely weather. Stay safe!

Savvy Sightseer's Virtual Vacation
Back by popular demand, the next four weeks will have four more 30-minute virtual vacations! Here's the first...

Ireland: From Dublin to Bunratty, the Republic of Ireland’s sights are as varied as its many shades of green. We’ll visit an incredible sight that even frequent visitors to Ireland are not familiar with; then we’ll swing through Dublin before branching out for the midlands, and a stop off at my absolute favorite tiny town, before finishing with the amazing views along the Atlantic seaboard.

Register by emailing jsalvatore@sctylib.org with the subject “Ireland” before Friday, May 22. You will receive a link within 24-hours to view this 30-minute travelogue at your convenience!

YA: Escape The Library!

The Young Adult Department is offering another Escape the Library at home. Click here to sign up. Links will be emailed starting Monday, May 18, to all who have signed up.
