National Library Week is April 3-9!

We'll be celebrating all week with a variety of activities, including a K-12 scavenger hunt, a virtual storytime, a collaborative art project, and an adult Grab and Go Craft.

The theme for National Library Week 2022, “Connect with Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with media, programs, ideas, and classes—in addition to books. Most importantly libraries also connect communities to each other.

Friends of the Library Update
It’s April, which means the sun is shining during a snow storm and then temps hit 80 right before sleet turns roads into hockey rinks. That’s life in Pennsylvania. But eventually the weather will get better and we Library Friends have you covered with lots of gardening books as our specialty sale. And if digging in the dirt isn’t for you, we recently received several boxes of gorgeous, like-new needle-craft books. Some of these books have been priced higher, at $5, since crafters know these books are very expensive, but worth every penny.
The Monday morning bookstore team of “M and M” just rearranged and freshened up the stock. Lots of history, including Civil War and local history, audio books, Disney movies on VHS, and fiction, featuring a big selection of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, and Amish romance.

Regular Book Shop hours:
Mondays 11am-3pm
Thursdays 2pm-5pm

On Saturday, April 23rd, Peter will be hosting Library Game Day from 11 am to 3:30 pm. Hungry gamers can stay fueled up with snacks. The Library Friends are selling a hotdog, bag of chips and a bottle of water for $2. Plus we’re opening the bookstore from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm so everyone can score some bargains.

AND: Get ready! It’s coming! Mark your calendars for the first big used book sale of 2022. The sale will be Friday and Saturday, June 3rd and 4th, and will be held on the first floor. More information as it becomes available, but we’re actively seeking people to help set up and take down the sale. Thursday, June 2nd, is set up and Monday, June 6th is take down.

To sign up to help with the big sale, become a Friend of the Library, or take a shift in the bookstore, leave a message at the Front Desk for Maggie.
