Quail HatchingThe library is hatching quail eggs this summer! Eggs will be arriving on Wednesday, June 2. We will be incubating the eggs, and expect them to hatch around June 20. The hatched quail chicks will stay here until July 7. Families can visit the library to see the eggs (and the chicks once they hatch) as well as follow the journey on social media!

Summer Challenge Kickoff Week June 14-18
Kickoff Grab-and-Go Bags Available starting Monday June 14, while supplies last! Get your special grab and go bag to create a nature journal that we will use all summer as part of the summer challenge! Daily Read Aloud Videos June 14-18, 12 pm On Facebook or in Beanstack Each day this week, Ms. Tiffany will be posting read aloud videos of books all about animals. Videos will be available on Facebook and in Beanstack. Secret Stories of Animal Survival by Carnegie Science Center June 14, 2 pm On Zoom Join us on Zoom as the Carnegie Science Center presents on "Secret Stories of Animal Survival." Summer Challenge Weekly Schedule June 21-August 6 Weekly Grab-and-Go kits will be available each Monday from June 21 - August 2, while supplies last! Toddlers (Birth to Age 3) Virtual Toddler Storytime Tuesdays at 10:30 on Facebook or in Beanstack Each week we will learn about animals from a different habitat, with books, songs, and rhymes. Preschoolers (Ages 3 to 5) Virtual Preschool Storytime Thursdays at 10:30 on Facebook or in Beanstack Each week we will learn about animals from a different habitat, with books, songs, and rhymes. Elementary (Grades K to 3) Weekly Virtual Activities Wednesdays at 10:30 on Facebook or in Beanstack Each week a different virtual animal related activity will be posted, including craft demonstrations and virtual field trips.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Any child not yet enrolled in kindergarten is eligible to participate in our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program!
Log the books you and your child read, or that other people read to your child, to earn virtual badges, a chance to win small prizes from Ms. Tiffany's vending machine, and to earn your spot on our tree mural in the library!

I.D.E.A.L. Book Club for Kids This monthly self-guided book club will cover titles that deal with inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Each month, readers will read the selected title to learn more about an underrepresented group. We encourage participants and their families to engage in discussion surrounding the topics these books cover.

Upcycled Animals June 23, 1pm Facebook and Beanstack Dive into this year's "Tails & Tales" Summer Challenge theme by using old tales to make creatures with tails! Using old book pages, form the silhouette of your favorite animal inside a picture frame for a chic decoration for your bedroom or dorm.

Announcing a brand new book club, exploring topics of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Each month, we will read a selection focusing on a title that challenges social norms, gives a voice to the voiceless, and is written by a member of an underrepresented group.
Participants can choose to do the solo club using Beanstack, to participate in the discussion sessions, or to do both.
