Recon Brewing Karma Tap Fundraiser for BCFLS Starting July 1 The "Overdue 1894" pale ale brewed for the Butler Area Public Library 125th is back on the Recon Karma Tap starting July 1. 15% of sales from the Karma Tap will benefit the Butler County Federated Library System and help all 9 Butler County library locations. Quail HatchingThe library is hatching quail eggs this summer! Six quail chicks hatched in late June, and they will stay here until July 7. Families can visit the library to see the chicks as well as follow the journey on social media!

Summer Challenge Weekly Schedule June 21-August 6 Weekly Grab-and-Go kits will be available each Monday from June 21 - August 2, while supplies last! Toddlers (Birth to Age 3) Virtual Toddler Storytime Tuesdays at 10:30 on Facebook or in Beanstack Each week we will learn about animals from a different habitat, with books, songs, and rhymes. Preschoolers (Ages 3 to 5) Virtual Preschool Storytime Thursdays at 10:30 on Facebook or in Beanstack Each week we will learn about animals from a different habitat, with books, songs, and rhymes. Elementary (Grades K to 3) Weekly Virtual Activities Wednesdays at 10:30 on Facebook or in Beanstack Each week a different virtual animal related activity will be posted, including craft demonstrations and virtual field trips.

I.D.E.A.L. Book Club for Kids This monthly self-guided book club will cover titles that deal with inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Each month, readers will read the selected title to learn more about an underrepresented group. We encourage participants and their families to engage in discussion surrounding the topics these books cover.
All books are available through Hoopla. July's Kids pick is A Friend for Henry by Jenn Bailey. Book club registration can be found on Beanstack, butlerlibrary.beanstack.org.

Rice Krispie Treat Sculpting Contest July 26-August 2, Tutorial July 28 Facebook and Beanstack Show us your sculpting skills! Check Facebook or Beanstack on July 28 for tips and tricks from Miss Tristyn on how to form your perfect creature. Rules to enter: 1. You must be in grades 4-12 2. You must sculpt an animal (but it can be an imaginary one, i.e. dragon or unicorn) 3. You must submit a picture of your work to Miss Tristyn at tparker@bcfls.org between July 28 and August 2. Our circulation staff will choose a winner on August 3rd to receive a prize! Grab-and-Go supply kits for this program will be available starting Monday, July 26 while supplies last.

Job Fair in a Bag July 1
Throughout July, the library will be providing a grab-and-go job fair in a bag, available in the lobby. Each bag will contain a 21-page document walking you through some of the components that go into searching for a job and preparing for interviews. Also included are pens, brochures from local job search companies, day planners, coupons for free resume printing at the library, and more!

Each month, we will read a selection focusing on a title that challenges social norms, gives a voice to the voiceless, and is written by a member of an underrepresented group.
