Did We Mention Sunday Hours?
We are adding Sunday hours at Main Library and Ginter Park Branch beginning February 3.  The libraries will join Broad Rock Branch with Sunday hours of 1-5 pm.  We look forward to seeing you!
Presidents Day Closings
All of our libraries will be closed for Presidents Day on Monday, February 18.  All Richmond Public Libraries will open at 10 am on Tuesday, February 19.  Broad Rock Branch, Ginter Park, and Main will be closed Sunday, February 17.  
4th Annual Black History Month Author Celebration

This year's theme is resilience.  Authors will share stories on this theme; speakers will include Kiara Shanay Lee and Deuntay Diggs.  The Celebration will be held at the Main Library on Saturday, February 9, 1-4 pm. This is a family event - light refreshments will be served.
More Black History Month Events

Hull Street Branch is showing movies each Tuesday night in February.  Broad Rock Branch is hosting a social on February 16 from 10-2:30.  Learn how to make African masks at Westover Hills Branch on 
February 22 at 4:30 pm.  And come join other Little Scientists at Main on February 14 to create your own kaleidoscope.  Check out our events calendar for details.
 
Thick: And Other Essays
 
We are so excited to host Tressie McMillan Cottom on Sunday, February 10 at 2 pm at the Main Library when she will discuss her latest book, Thick.  This collection of eight essays focuses on gender, race, and capitalism with wit and wisdom.  Dr. Cottom is the author of Lower Ed and is an assistant professor of sociology at VCU.  Her work has been featured in the Washington Post, the Daily Show, Slate, and The Atlantic.
