Fall Book Sale
It's the semi-annual event you've all been waiting for! Our fall Friends of the Richmond Public Library Book Sale is this weekend. Friday, November 1 from 10AM-12 PM, members of the Friends get early access to the sale. Everyone else can join in the fun starting at noon. Full Book Sale hours are as follows:
 
Friday, November 1
10:00 AM-12:00 PM Members Only
12:00-5:00 PM, 7:00-9:00 PM
 
Saturday, November 2
10:00 AM-4:00 PM
 
Sunday, November 3 1:00 PM-4:00 PM
 
Bring all your reusable shopping bags. You're going to need them 😉 📚
 
 
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Children typically start learning to read in Kindergarten, but a love of reading can start much earlier than that! 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national initiative to encourage reading to newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers. It is also a great bonding opportunity for a caregiver and child.
 
How It Works:
1. Pick up a reading log at your local library or print one from our website.
2. Read, read, read!! After you complete a book, have your child color in one circle on the reading log.
3. When the log is full, bring it to your local library branch for a special prize.
 
 
Did you know we have notaries?
The Richmond Public Library offers free notary public service. This service covers basic notary services as a courtesy to our patrons with the following guidelines:
 
• A maximum of 3 documents per person per day may be notarized.
 
• All parties signing documents must be present and provide current photo Identification.
 
• All documents must be signed in the presence of the Notary.
 
• It is the customer’s responsibility to provide witnesses when necessary. Witnesses are required to provide current photo identification.
 
It is recommended, but not necessary, to call ahead to verify the availability of our notaries.

Ginter Park Branch
 
Furiously trying to write your 50,000 words in one month? Join us for a chill writing hour to get that word count up! We will have tea available to drink, quiet music playing, and a limited number of laptops to borrow. Ages 10-19.
Felt Fall Leaves
Wednesday, November 6, 4:00 PM
Belmont Branch

Join the Belmont Crafters this month to make felt fall leaves to add to hair accessories, pins and more! All supplies will be provided. This program is for adults 18+. Registration is required due to limited space. 
Introduction to Family Law
Saturday, November 16, 2:00 PM
East End Branch

Topics will include custody, divorce, support, separation agreements, and restraining orders, among others. Registration required.
Native American Heritage Month Storytime
Thursday, November 21, 4:30 PM
Broad Rock Branch

Children's librarian Summer, a member of the Eastern Delaware Nations, will share stories from Indigenous authors and discuss Native life in the U.S. today!

As current library users, we want to hear from you! Tell us how you use the library and what your experience has been. What would you like to see more of? What ideas do you have for how we can grow? Please take a few moments to fill out the current user survey and help shape the future of our libraries!
 
 
Do you have a friend, family member, or neighbor who doesn't currently use the library? We want to hear from them, too! Their input will help us make changes to increase the number of people who enjoy our resources. Please share the future user survey and encourage them share their thoughts.
