What the book?
It was a huge challenge to pick out our favorites from the list of titles proposed for this book. Clearly, our readers are a creative bunch! In no particular order, here are our five favorite suggestions:
Book cover with text removed. Man chops veg while woman gazes adoringly at him. Both are styled in distinctly 70s fashions.

  • Sharp Knives and Wine: How to Improve your Relationship!
    submitted by Karen Z.
  • I'm Too Sexy for This Salad
    submitted by Veronica H.
  • When Harry Met Salad
    submitted by Adriane D.
  • Bell Bottoms and Bell Peppers: A Groovy Cookbook for Groovy Cooks
    submitted by Joey M.
  • Cold Salads by a Hot Dish
    submitted by Kat I.
Looking for even more laughs? Check out all 61 submissions here.

Ready to learn what the real title is? Click here for both the title and a peek inside the book - but be prepared for some unusual ingredient combinations. (Milk, deviled ham, egg noodles, and ketchup, anyone?)

Thanks for playing this round of What the Book?!

Library of the week
Banks Public Library
The jasmine flowers on the green wall at Banks Public Library are just starting to burst into bloom!

Stop by outside to read the picture book "Windows" by Julia Denos where it's displayed in the library's windows.
Banks Public Library is small but mighty! While we have lots of bestseller fiction and DVDs, like any good library, one thing that is special about our branch is our DIY/rural knowledge. Our staff can easily field questions about raising poultry, knitting a scarf, when to plant cucumbers or many other topics. Our seed library is a popular new addition to our collection and we even have staff who can recommend local birding sites and talk about what you see there!

New and wonderful
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
"A light-hearted, steamy romance that was just what I needed when all of the weightier books I was planning to read were too serious for my current mood." - Susan, Banks Public Library
The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
"This book is charming, and entertaining. It features a protagonist we can all relate to in some way, and a cast of unique and zany characters. When her life is turned topsy-turvy she finds her way through the crazy family she didn't know existed, a persistent suitor, her cat Phil, and ice cream!" - Lisa, Banks Public Library
The Tea Planter's Wife by Dinah Jefferies
"The story takes place in 1920s Ceylon on a tea plantation, a time and place I know nothing about and I found the era fascinating (and appalling). This is a lush book that is leisurely paced and a good distraction." - Michele, Banks Public Library
