This summer may be a hot one, so here's a list of some great resources to sweeten your summery experiences. A mix of cookbooks, novels, mysteries, and history all in the theme of Ice Cream! Happy summer reading, and happy summer eating!

Answer time
Last week we listed some creatures from different traditional stories around the world, and asked you to guess which of those creatures had not been suggested as a match for an extinct Ice Age megafauna (giant animal) species. 53% of trivia participants correctly selected the Questing Beast - well done!
 
The Questing Beast is a creature from Arthurian legends, sometimes described as having the head and neck of a snake, the body of a leopard, the hindquarters of a lion, and the feet of a deer. It has not been connected with any Ice Age megafauna, but the real-life creature that most closely matches this description may be a giraffe!

An old-fashioned 4th of July in Tigard includes family, friends, and homemade ice cream!
The Tigard Public Library is a vibrant community gathering place that offers over 800 programs a year for people of all ages. The library is located on 14 acres that offer restful views of nature and wildlife. Since 1969 the library has been in two locations before opening a new 48,000 square foot library in 2004.
 
The library celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2018 and continues to play a significant role in the Tigard community.
