As part of our strategic planning process, the Pembroke Public Library is interested in hearing from the Pembroke community. Whether you are a regular library user or have never been to the Pembroke Public Library, please take a few minutes to complete our survey. Mini GolfFriday, February 21 from 12:30-4:30pm Join the Library for a round of mini golf! This is a drop-in event with no registration required and no age minimum* or maximum! *Per Library policy, children ages 7 and under must be accompanied by someone over the age of 13.

Blind Date with a Book Throughout February Looking for a new book to fall in love with this February? Why not go on a blind date with one! We've got a selection of books with their covers hidden and a few clues of what might be inside. To find out what's inside you'll have to take a chance on love and borrow it! Once you've got it, unwrap the book and officially meet your date! If things don't work out, feel free to return it with no hard feelings.

Monday Movie Matinee: Just Mercy Monday, February 3rd at 1:30 p.m. World-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner while facing racism and legal and political maneuverings. Pembroke Public Library Book Club Tuesday, February 4th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For our February meeting the PPL Book Club is reading James by Percival Everett, an action-packed reimagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, both harrowing and darkly humorous, told from the enslaved Jim's point of view. Yoga Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Led by Kim Norton and other instructors from the YogaConnection in Plymouth. Open to all levels! A single-class drop-in is $12 and a four-class registration is $45 ($35 for Friends members). Friends members can purchase an eight-class punch ticket for $80, which is valid for three months. Acoustic Music Night Wednesday, February 5th and 19th at 6:00 p.m. Come join like-minded musicians to share and play music together. All acoustic string and wind instruments are welcome and others will be considered, but please no electronics. The genre focus will be on Folk, Pop, Americana, Soft Rock, R&B, and Blues. Please bring some songs you like to play with sheet music so others can join in, everyone will have a chance to play a few songs.

History of the North and South Rivers Thursday, February 6th at 6:30 p.m. Come hear about the rich history and natural beauty of the North and South Rivers, as well as the wonderful activities, events, and educational programs held throughout the year, with Charlie Naff from the North and South Rivers Watershed Association. The North River is the first designated Scenic Protected River in Massachusetts and the North and South Rivers received National Natural Landmark status by the National Park Service. The North and South Rivers Watershed Association (NSRWA) is a non-profit grass roots environmental organization that has been dedicated to the preservation and protection of the North and South Rivers, their streams and marshes since 1970.

Monday Movie Matinee: The Notebook Monday, February 10th at 1:30 p.m. An elderly man reads to a woman with dementia the story of two young lovers whose romance is threatened by the difference in their respective social classes. Cookbook Club Thursday, February 13th at 6:30 p.m. Pembroke Public Library is thrilled to announce its very first "Pembroke Cooks" Cookbook Club! Enjoy a potluck style meal and meet other enthusiastic home cooks and foodies in your community. This month's theme is “Cook What You Love.” Choose any recipe from any cookbook you love, make it, and bring it! Or, if you would prefer to skip the cooking and come in for dinner, you are also welcome at our table. As an optional step, bring in your copy of your cookbook so that other home cooks and foodies may enjoy browsing it. Photocopying recipes will be allowed at the end of the evening. We ask that if you bring a dish, that it is fully cooked and prepared ahead of time (raw dishes, such as sushi, are not permitted).

PPL Mystery Book Club Thursday, February 20th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This month's selection is The Teacher by Freida McFadden: Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. But all is not as it should be. Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye. Genealogy Night Tuesday, February 25th, at 6:30 p.m. Are you interested in finding out more about your genealogy? Do you have a cool story about one of your ancestors you want to share? Join in our monthly Genealogy Night to chat with other family history buffs! All are welcome to attend, from experienced researchers who would like to share tips or stories about great finds, to beginners who want to learn more about the research process and online resources. Library laptops will be available to explore Ancestry Library Edition.

February Teen Take-And-Make: Avocado Magnet Available beginning February 3rd while supplies last We know teens are busy with school, work, chores, and more so we're giving you an opportunity to craft on your own time. Storytime Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime that encourages school readiness skills. Join us for songs, movement, and more! There will be no Storytime on Monday, February 17.

Baby Lapsit Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child. Each 30-minute program includes stretches, songs, and rhymes followed by an open play time that allows babies to play and grown-ups to chat.

LEGO Club Tuesday, February 11th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Kids ages 4+ are welcome to visit and build with the library LEGOs. Bring neighbors, big siblings, and school friends and get creative. This month's theme is Marble Run. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

Anime Club Thursday, February 13th from 4:15-5:45 p.m. Ages 11 - 15 are invited to watch anime, snack, craft and socialize. This month attendees will enjoy the start of the Sailor Moon series (TV-PG) and craft with perler beads. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

Chess Club Wednesday, February 19th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Youth and families can learn and play chess at the Library. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

Puppy Dog Tales Thursday, February 20th from 4:15-5:00 p.m. Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

Teen Craft: Cards for Hospitalized Kids Thursday, February 27th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Middle & high school students can earn a community service hour credit and get creative by making cards for the organization “Cards for Hospitalized Kids.”
