2024 Holiday Ornaments are Here The Friends of the Pembroke Library 2024 Holiday Ornaments are now available to purchase. The ornaments are $20 each, just ask for one at the main desk. In addition, previous years ornaments are still available, and we have a catalogue of them for you to look through!

Pembroke Community Group Pajama Drive The Pembroke Community Group Pajama Drive is back! We are collecting new pajamas with the tags still on. All sizes are needed, and slippers and robes are also welcome. Please leave all donations unwrapped or in a bag. Drop off at the library to benefit Pembroke community families!

Pembroke Public Library Book Club Tuesday, December 3rd from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For our December meeting the PPL Book Club is reading Table for Two by Amor Towles, short fiction featuring six stories based in New York City and a novella set in Golden Age Hollywood. Yoga Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Led by Kim Norton and other instructors from the YogaConnection in Plymouth. Open to all levels! A single-class drop-in is $12 and a four-class registration is $45 ($35 for Friends members). Friends members can purchase an eight-class punch ticket for $80, which is valid for three months. Adult Craft Night: Felted Holly Ornaments Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. Join instructors from Pop-Up Art School and get into the holiday spirit with this needle felting class, where you’ll craft an eco-friendly ornament made with wool roving! Perfect for beginners and seasoned felters alike, this project will add a handmade, festive touch to your décor or make a thoughtful gift. You'll gain the basic skills of needle felting, walking away with a finished piece, a foam block, needles, and the confidence to continue your felting journey independently.

Acoustic Music Night Wednesday, December 18th at 6:00 p.m. The Pembroke Public Library is thrilled to announce the return of Music Nights: a space for like-minded musicians to share and play music together. All acoustic string and wind instruments are welcome and others will be considered, but please no electronics. The genre focus will be on Folk, Pop, Americana, Soft Rock, R&B, and Blues. Please bring some songs you like to play with sheet music so others can join in, everyone will have a chance to play a few songs. PPL Mystery Book Club Thursday, December 19th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This month's selection is End of Story by A. J. Finn. Sebastian Trapp, a reclusive mystery novelist with mere months to live, invites his long-time correspondent Nicky Hunter, an expert in detective fiction, to his San Francisco mansion, to help write Sebastian’s life story. But it’s not long until Nicky finds herself caught in an irresistible case of real-life “detective fever.” After all, twenty years ago Sebastian’s first wife and teenaged son vanished from different locations, never to be seen again. Genealogy Night There will be no Genealogy Night meeting this December. See you on January 28th! Are you interested in finding out more about your genealogy? Do you have a cool story about one of your ancestors you want to share? Join in our monthly Genealogy Night to chat with other family history buffs! All are welcome to attend, from experienced researchers who would like to share tips or stories about great finds, to beginners who want to learn more about the research process and online resources. Library laptops will be available to explore Ancestry Library Edition.

Storytime Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30am Toddlers (ages 2 to 5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, and a story that encourage language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft. We will not be hosting Storytime on December 23 - 24 or December 30 - 31.

Baby Lapsit Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child. Each 30-minute program includes stretches, songs, and rhymes followed by an open play time that allows babies to play and grown-ups to chat. We will not be hosting Baby Lapsit on December 26 or January 2.

LEGO Club Tuesday, December 10th from 4:00-5:00pm Kids ages 4+ are welcome to visit and build with the library LEGOs. Bring neighbors, big siblings, and school friends and get creative. This month's theme is Lights and Laughter. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

Gingerbread House Painting (for Families) Wednesday, December 11th from 4:00-5:00pm All ages (youth + family members) can join us in turning terracotta pots into miniature gingerbread houses! Paint, brushes, and other supplies will be provided. This event involves acrylic paint so please wear clothing that can get messy. Registration required.
