This week's pick is The Starless Sea, the newest book by Massachusetts native and The Night Circus author Erin Morgenstern. Patti recently read The Starless Sea and compared the experience to a puzzle. She says: "This book is for people who love stories and magic, and travelling to a place where you can expect the unexpected. Zachary Ezra Rawlings finds a book in the university library that isn't catalogued and he is intrigued. As he begins reading 'Sweet Sorrows' he discovers one of the chapters in the book is a part of Zachary's childhood - he is reading about himself. It is an adventure, a fantasy, and if you are looking for something out of the ordinary this book might just be the one for you."

Starting your genealogical journey can be overwhelming to say the least. Where is the best place to begin? Well, contrary to most tasks try beginning at the end! That is, start with what you know and who you know. If you know your parents' birth dates and places, that can be the best place to jump off from. While staff are at home, we've been been trying out new activities to help relieve stress and will share some of our favorite resources each week. This week we'll focus on meditation, which can be both helpful for coping with the stress of today and a good tool to carry back into our normal lives. Patti has been listening to Deepak Chopra; some of his meditations are available on YouTube, including one of Patti's favorites, "A Morning Meditation." Janet recommends the free app Headspace, which helps increase your mindfulness in just a few minutes a day and can be found in your device's app store. The library also has various eBooks and audiobooks on meditation and mindfulness available through our OverDrive collection, including some by Deepak Chopra and Dan Harris.
