DINO-vember Saturday, November 4
 November is DINOvember! Drop in to the Children's Department between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for a dinosaur scavenger hunt, craft, and more dino-mite fun. ------ Also on November 4 our Craft Swap is from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Craft materials will be available in the conference room for free. Donations will be accepted for upcoming library craft programs. Thank you to all who have donated materials to make this possible. ------ The Library is a Toys for Tots drop off point. You can drop off new and unwrapped toys through December 16 for babies through teens. Thank you for your generosity. ------ Special Hours: The Library will be closing at 7:00pm on Wednesday November 1 for staff training. The Library will be closed Saturday November 11 for the holiday. The Library will be closing at 4:00pm on Wednesday, November 22 and closed on Thursday November 23 for Thanksgiving |

Pre-readers and experienced readers alike are invited to join Lori and her dog Mocha in the Children's Department for our new "Read to a Dog" program! Reading to a furry friend not only helps kids practice their literacy skills, but it builds reading confidence and reduces stress. This drop-in program will take place on the last Wednesday of every month; no registration required. Please note: there will be no Read to a Dog program in December.

The Center for Arabic Culture Children's Choir and Youth Orchestra programs accompanied by CAC Music Instructors Ensemble, will present an evening of Arabic music from around the Arab World. CAC Children's Choir will present a series of songs from around the Arab and the Youth Orchestra will play pieces by famous Arab and Middle Eastern musicians. The event will take place at the Community Room at Town Hall located at 190 South St. All ages are welcome to enjoy this unique choir and ensemble.
Concert Followed by a story-time and arts activity for children with writer & artist, Hanan Haddad The Children's Choir was established on March 2, 2014. It is the First Arab-American children's choir in Massachusetts. We introduce children 6-14 years old to the language and culture through folkloric, contemporary and modern Arabic music and songs. The choir welcomes children and youth from all backgrounds and speaking Arabic is not required. Funded by the Plainville Cultural Council with funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Tuesdays at 10:00am -- Rhyme Time
Rhyme Time is a program intended for infants and toddlers. Each week we will share an interactive story, a Mother Goose rhyme and some fun music and movement. Children are welcome to engage with the program, come and go from the circle as they want while they build their self regulation and attention skills, and when the music starts everyone usually comes rushing back! This is intended to be a comfortable, engaging activity to introduce story time expectations and early literacy skills in a low-key environment, to allow for social opportunities for children and parents and to expose infants and toddlers to an early learning environment.
