This program highlights the true stories of Revolutionary-era women, including Prudence Cummings Wright, who organized and led a band of women to capture two Tory spies. Step back in time and discover the untold stories of 5 courageous women, both patriot and loyalist, American and foreign born, who witnessed, chronicled, and in some cases changed the course of the American Revolution.


This program is presented in partnership with the Rochester Historical Society and is supported by a grant from the Rochester Cultural Council, a local agency that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

There are countless reasons why Italy is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations. This presentation will take the audience on a virtual tour of the country, showcasing its famous cities and the spectacular scenery of regions like Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, and the Dolomiti. We'll also explore various aspects of its rich history, culture, and cuisine. Andiamo! (Let’s go!)


About your tour guide: 

A Massachusetts native, Matt Davis is a retired professor and an avid traveler. He’s visited 35 countries and has spent nearly two years in Italy, his favorite international destination. He’s the author of a travel memoir, At Home in the World: Reflections of a Travel Addict and is the regularly-featured Travel Expert for the program Studio 10 on WJAR-TV in Providence.

Bead Therapy with ZMakesBeads is an expressive arts workshop that teaches participants the basics of beaded jewelry making and the difference between semi-precious stones and precious stones. The materials used are semi-precious stones and other natural jewelry materials. Semi-precious stones have been appreciated for generations for their unique beauty and healing and grounding properties. Participants will keep the pieces you make! 


Please register - 15 spots are available for ages 18+. This event funded by the Friends of Plumb Library.

Meets every third Thursday of the month.
