Summary:
Inca mummies: They ruled a vast empire that stretched from Colombia to Argentina hundreds of years before Columbus. They crafted magnificent art from gold and precious jewels, and they sacrificed their children on high mountain peaks to honour their gods. We know these things -- and little more of the mysterious Inca. But that is about to change. Two archaeology teams are on the verge of discoveries that may unlock the long-held secrets of this ancient civilization. China's mystery mummies: More than 1000 years before any known contact between the East and West, hundreds of mummies, many with Caucasian features, were buried in a Chinese desert. This film goes on a unique, forensic journey to determine who these people were and where they came from. Paraoh's curse: National Geographic joins explorers, scientists and Egyptologists to enter tombs across Egypt and examine the bodies of the mummies inside. But they are not on a hunt for treasure or gold, as might be expected. Instead, they are looking for biological evidence and scientific clues in order to shed light on - and perhaps even solve - the death of Tutankhamen and answer the question: was there really a curse of the pharaohs? For years, the boy-king Tutankhamen has been an object of fascination worldwide. What was the cause of his demise? And what was it that caused the death of those who discovered his tomb?
