At EveryLibrary and the EveryLibrary Institute, we believe that strong professional associations are critical to the future of libraries. In many states and countries, the library association is the appropriate leadership in the state on legislative issues, professional networking, and training. We need these important institutions to thrive in order to ensure that library workers have the resources they need to continue their important work.
We also understand the financial hardship many of our associations are experiencing due to canceled conferences and declining membership revenue during the Coronavirus crisis. That’s why we are committed to donating $20 of all conference registrations to library associations in the United States and internationally.
This means that we will be giving, $20 of every registration to the state library association (for U.S. attendees) or the national associations (for international attendees) of the attendee. For example, if a librarian from a California public library registers for this conference, $20 of their registration fees will be donated to the California Library Association. If the attendee is a school librarian, $20 of their conference registration will be donated to the California School Library Association. For international attendees, $20 of conference registration will be contributed to their national library association, governing body, or organization. Therefore, it’s crucial that all U.S. attendees take the survey to identify as a school or public library employee.
