Virtual Sewing Workshop: Hapa Zome Wall Hanging Art In-Person
For ages 10+, join us virtually via Zoom. For a limited time, the recording of this workshop is available on the Library's YouTube channel.
Join Patchwork Giraffe virtually to learn the art of hapa zome through hammering leaves and flowers. We will be making fabric wall hanging art. You will learn to sew casings and add dowels so it will be ready to hang up! This class does require you to have access to a sewing machine at home.
Supplies Needed:
- 11" x 18" piece of PFD cotton fabric
- 4" x 44" piece of cotton fabric
- 2 - 1/2" dowels, 12" long
- 4 yards jute string
- Thread
- Pins
- Collect leaves and flowers
- Hammer, mallet, or smooth stone
- Piece of cardboard
- Iron and ironing board or mat
- Sewing machine
If you do not have access to the above supplies, please email creativelearning@carsoncitylibrary.org to schedule to pick up a sewing kit for this class (does not include sewing machine). Pick-ups can be scheduled for July 7 through July 15. A premiere card is not required to attend this virtual workshop. This workshop will be recorded and can be viewed at a later time.
