Donations Needed!

The Boston Bruins, Cradles to Crayons, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and Wonderfund are once again partnering to rally communities in support of children in need across Massachusetts with a pajama drive! Donate new pajamas!


We are looking for brand-new pajamas, appropriate for all seasons, and in all sizes. Please do not give pajamas that include any family or holiday references, and refer to our Quality = Dignity guidelines. 


Size 12 - 18 months through 18/20 (Adult Medium)Your donations will help provide thousands of children with a warm pair of pajamas!


The library will be accepting pajama donations from

February 1 - March 15.

Join us for our community blood drive and make a difference in someone’s life. Your donation could save lives and bring hope to those in need. Every pint counts—schedule your appointment today and help us make a lasting impact!


The blood drive will take place in Bridgewater Public Library's parking lot from 10AM - 3:30PM. 


Participants must be at least 16 years old. Those under 18 must have a parent/guardian present.

Join Massachusetts-based writers, Tara Tai and Aislinn Brophy, to talk all things literary nerd, from their upcoming self-proclaimed ‘nerdy’ novels to the role of RPGs in their writing.


Aislinn's bio: Aislinn Brophy (they/she) is a queer writer and theater artist whose work seeks to explore hard truths about our world with empathy and joy. They graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. in Theater, Dance & Media. As an actor, they have appeared on stages all across the East Coast. They are the author of the young adult novels How to Succeed in Witchcraft and Spells to Forget Us.

Tara's bio: Tara Tai (they/she) is an Asian American writer living in Boston, where they spend most of their time playing TTRPGs and romancing video game NPCs. When they're not lost in imaginary worlds, they're annoying their wife Audrey and dog Gingko. Single Player is their debut novel. 


Their talk will be followed by a Q&A, so bring all your questions!

Tuesday, February 11 at 6PM

Spend an evening with former psychology professor, researcher and self proclaimed travel addict Matt Davis. He is an avid traveler who has visited 35 countries and made over 40 road trips across the USA. 


He will share his inspirations, stories and photos as well as travel tips from his book: At Home in the World: Reflections of a Travel Addict.

From colliding with a kangaroo in Australia to strolling the shores of Israel's Sea of Galilee, Matt will make you feel like you are traveling right along with him.

Join the latest class in our Genealogy Skill Building series with our Library Archivist, Karen Urbec! 


Probate records are a rich source of family and community history for a genealogist. They not only demonstrate family relationships, but they also help us learn about our ancestor’s lifestyle and interests. At first glance, they can be difficult to understand, so join this class to learn how to use probate records in your family research.


This class will be offered twice, in the same week, to allow for varying schedules. This is not a two-part class, but is the same class offered twice. Please register for the class time that works best for you.

Celebrate Valentine's Day with some great cocktails you can make at home. Tammy Coxen of Tammy's Tastings will lead this fun and interactive online class. 


What do strawberries, honey, saffron, watermelon and chocolate all have in common? They all supposedly have aphrodisiac qualities. 

History is filled with stories of lust and love inspiring foods, and we'll explore them through a presentation that combines stories, visuals, and hands-on demonstrations of cocktails that you can follow along with at home if you want. 


You'll receive a recipe list ahead of time and step-by-step instructions during this Zoom event.

Join us for a welcoming monthly drop-in crochet class designed for all skill levels! Whether you’re picking up a hook for the first time or you’re a seasoned crocheter, there’s a spot for you. 


This is an adult only class but kids are welcome to come watch.

Led by Julia and Kara, this friendly gathering offers a relaxed environment where you can learn the basics, work on new techniques, or simply enjoy some creative time with fellow crochet enthusiasts. Bring your current project or start something new while sharing tips, stories, and inspiration.


Need guidance? Julia and Kara are here to help with lessons and advice tailored to your skill level. Prefer to just hang out and stitch? That’s great too!

Come spend an evening with True Crime Author, Maureen Boyle who will be holding a discussion of her three books.


ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Award-winning journalist Maureen Boyle is the author of three true-crime books: Shallow Graves: The Hunt for the New Bedford Highway Serial Killer (2017), The Ghost: The Murder of Police Chief Greg Adams and the Hunt for His Killer (2021), and Child Last Seen: The Search for Patty Desmond (2023). She is now working on her fourth book.

She was named New England Journalist of the Year three times and has been honored for her work covering crime, drug issues and human-interest stories both regionally and nationally. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in criminal justice. She is now the journalism program director at Stonehill College in Easton, MA.

Hello Pokemon Trainers! Are you ready to get your game on at the Bridgewater Public Library?


We're looking for trainers to play and train with us!


A few things to know:

  • Bring your own cards. We'll have a few extras to make a deck.
  • Trades are encouraged and part of the excitement! The student trainer will be available to provide guidance in an effort to make trading an enjoyable experience for all, but each person is responsible for his or her own trades. The club and library are not liable for any trades.
  • The Club will be run by a student trainer and is open to kids 6-12 years old. A guardian must remain with kid(s).

The TaleSpinners has existed for nearly twenty years and is open to all. The TaleSpinners meet on Thursdays, year round, from 1-3 PM in the Mary Jarvis Conference Room.


The TaleSpinners encourage all sorts of writing: memoir, poetry, short stories, and/or novels. The TaleSpinners write in all genres: mystery, thrillers, science fiction, romance, humor. We engage in gentle, helpful, and encouraging critiques of one another’s writing, and everyone gets a chance to share their work.


We ask each writer to come with copies of his/her work for the rest of the group to write their comments and suggestions upon.

Deanne Joy's Sacrifice: The Heart of the Military exhibition will be on display in the Flora T. Little Gallery through the month of February. 


Join Patriots Heart, an arts-based nonprofit dedicated to honoring exceptional Americans who serve our nation, for Sacrifice: The Heart of the Military, a traveling exhibit that pays tribute to the service and sacrifice of United States military personnel through powerful story quilt displays. 


This heartfelt six-quilt series spans 100 years, honoring veterans from six major conflicts and calling viewers to empathetic reflection by highlighting diverse aspects of military service. 


In this artist’s talk, the creative team will share insights into the inspiration and process behind the quilts, discuss the stories represented, and explore the techniques and materials used to bring these narratives to life. 


The presentation will include an image-rich discussion and elements of a documentary currently in progress. Following the talk, attendees are invited to join the creative team in the gallery to view and discuss the quilts.
