Memory Activities Do you know someone who is suffering from dementia? Before you go to visit them the next time, check out the items we have in the “Memory Activities” category of our Library of Things (LOT), and you can bring an item along with you! We have a variety of things, ranging from lacing cards, to activity/busy boards, to simple jigsaw puzzles and small picture albums. Some items are good for early stage dementia, while others are better for later stage. For instance, one of the items we have is a “Gel-Wave Pad.” The purpose of this activity is to move plastic disks through gel waves for tactile and visual stimulation, enhanced eye-hand coordination, increased finger strength, improved hand dexterity, and greater attention span. This activity is especially good for middle- to late-stage dementia. Click here for a complete list of our LOT and to review the rules for borrowing these items. If you have any questions, just give us a call: 508-261-7380.
