Support the Friends of the Library in November
Have you heard the news? The Friends of the Mansfield Public Library has been selected as the beneficiary of the @Shaws GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Program! Each time the $2.50 reusable GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Bag is purchased at the Shaw's at 390 West St. during the month of November we will receive a $1 donation.

The bags are available at various registers and at the reusable bag rack. If you are having trouble finding the bag, ask the store manager where the Shaw's GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Bag is located and they will be happy to show you!

Book Club Kit of the Month
We want to make life a little easier for your book club. We have prepared Book Club Kits: bags that contain  10 copies of the same book, possibly enough for all the members of your book club. Each kit also contains a laminated card of discussion questions to get you started.

The library currently has 20 book club kits.

This month we are highlighting We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter.

It is the spring of 1939 and three generations of the Kurc family are doing their best to live normal lives, even as the shadow of war grows closer. The talk around the family Seder table is of new babies and budding romance, not of the increasing hardships threatening Jews in their hometown of Radom, Poland. But soon the horrors overtaking Europe will become inescapable and the Kurcs will be flung to the far corners of the world, each desperately trying to navigate his or her own path to safety.
