Summer Reading Kickoff Tuesday, July 5, 2:00pm Norton Library Park It's time to kick off our summer reading program and read beyond the beaten path, so drop in to Norton Library Park for an afternoon of outdoor adventures! The Girl Scouts of Norton will host several skill stations, where you can learn handy scouting and camping secrets, craft clever devices, test your outdoor knowledge, and more! No registration necessary. This program is geared toward ages 5-12.

Camp Song Sing-Along

Library Park
Bring a blanket or camp chair and gather round to sing with friends, neighbors, and your local librarian. We'll sing favorite camp songs, familiar folk songs, and more in Norton Library Park. You don't have to be good at singing - you just have to sing! Lyrics will be provided, and folding chairs will be available. Ages 0-100! No registration required.

Paint Like Monet with Sandy Churchill Tuesday, July 19, 6:00pm Community Room Join us for a fun and engaging painting class with artist Sandy Churchill! Painters of all levels are welcome to learn to paint in the style of French Impressionist Claude Monet. All materials will be provided. This class is designed to introduce adults to different painting styles and foster hands-on creation. Storytime in the Park Wednesdays from July 6, 10:30am Norton Library Park Join your librarian Leah in Norton Library Park for playful stories and songs to build your child's early literacy skills and instill a love of reading. Please bring a blanket or chairs for your group to sit comfortably on the grass. This storytime is geared toward ages 2-6, but siblings and friends of other ages are welcome! In case of wet weather, we will cancel - feel free to call the library or watch our social media for updates the day of the event. No registration necessary - we can't wait to see you for storytime!

We will sing, dance, and have an instrument playtime outside in Norton Library Park. If it rains, we will take our fun inside! This in-person program is for young children and their caregivers. Baby Playdate Friday, July 8, 10:00am Friday, July 22, 10:00am Norton Library Park Bring your own blanket and join Leah in the park for a joyful baby lapsit, where we’ll share rhymes and songs with our littlest readers, with plenty of time for parents and caregivers to connect, too!
This program is geared toward babies from birth through early walking age (approx. 0-18 months). Walking toddlers will have more fun at "Storytime in the Park" on Wednesdays. No registration required.

Rosa Parks Play Creation Thursday, July 14, 1:30pm Thursday, July 21, 1:30pm Thursday, July 28, 1:30pm Norton Library Park In this 3 week outdoor theater program, your child will have the opportunity to learn an important story and experience the joy of performing! Everyone has a special part to play in our show. We will be using the gazebo in Norton Library Park as our stage. This program is for children ages 5-10 years old. Costumes are provided, and siblings are welcome. In case of rain, we will postpone to the next week at the same time, with a final rain date of 8/4 for our performance if necessary. Week 1: we will learn the story of Rosa Parks, cast parts, and create scenery, props, and invitations. Week 2: We will practice our play and finish our scenery and props. Week 3: We will invite our family and friends to watch us perform the show we have created together! Teen Charcoal Drawing Class Thursdays from July 7, 4:30pm Community Room This charcoal drawing series for tweens and teens features five hands-on, step-by-step lessons on a different subject each week. Local artist Sandy Churchill will teach participants how to use the different charcoal pencils and kneadable erasers, as well as learning techniques for contrast, shading, highlighting, and detail. Hey, teens! Do you want to learn how to play tabletop roleplaying games in a small, supportive, and playful group? We're slowly playing Dungeons & Dragons while we alternate with unrelated one-shots to get good at roleplaying. Beginners welcome - no experience or materials necessary, but if you have your own dice, feel free to bring them! Imagination welcome! Ages 12-18.
