The renovation work on our new Library continues to progress, and we will be holding a community forum on April 24th to discuss the building, its progress, accessibility plans, and future programming. The forum is free to attend, no registration is required, and all are welcome. We will also be hosting a special Story Time on Saturday April 12th as local authors Lily Jeswald and Marianna McCallum launch their new children's books. Come meet the authors, hear them read their new books, and stay for some fun slime making activities. Although we will be closed on Monday April 21st due to Patriots' Day, the rest of that week will be full of school vacation programs in the afternoons, including duct tape day, weaving craft day, and polymer clay day, so stop by the Children's Section to participate. No registration is required for any vacation day programs. There is also still time to enter our April photo contest if you e-mail your favorite pet photo to Miss Lorie by March 31st. We also cannot forget the work of the Friends of the Library, and they are once again hosting Candidates Night at the Dighton Middle School on March 31st.
