Virtual - The History of Women's Suffrage - Centennial Events

Carolyn Runnells will give a talk entitled - 2020 The Centennial for Women’s Suffrage  There was a difference between a Suffragist and a Suffragette and they used different tactics for women to achieve the right to vote in August of 1920. We will look at the timeline of the suffrage movement, key leaders, a few references to the British movement and how color and fashion influenced the women who took up the banner to fight for the right to vote.  

 

Biography --  Carolyn is a Certified Interpretive Guide from the National Association for Interpretation, which focuses on the interpretation of science, arts and cultural history. She combines her love of history and her historic clothing as a vehicle to bring history to life. Her shows and presentations are used in museums, educational institutions, service organizations, tour organizations, historical societies and on cruise ships.
