South Country Library
Weekly Update
August 17, 2020
Building community by sharing the wonders of learning, creating and connecting with one another.
Hello South Country Community,

Families, our last Virtual Storytime of the summer premieres today at 4 PM on Facebook (you can watch many of our past storytimes on YouTube). And browse this week’s Reflections of Us stories available at the library, featuring Latinx children.

Teens, check out this week’s craft kit, then join Ms. Kathleen on Thursday for a game of virtual Uno!

Grown-ups, don’t miss the fascinating and tragic history of the radium girls, presented by local historian Erin Becker, in Great Grandma Barrett was a Shining Woman. Plus another week of trivia — how well do you know your historical royalty?

Staying Stable features a free online seminar-series for women job-seekers. For those caring for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's, check out the updated free virtual programs. And in Learning & Leisure, take a bite of the video-storytime series James and the Giant Peach, as told by Taika Waititi and friends.

Lastly, it is with broken hearts that we inform you of the passing of full-time library employee, our co-worker and friend, Dolly Ring. Please click here to view our full message on Facebook*, and here for Dolly’s remembrance page.

Be well,
South Country Library
