HELP THE NYS CONTACT TRACING INITIATIVE NYS is looking for people to call people diagnosed with COVID-19, establish all contacts, and maintain ongoing communication with every contact. Teams will support the quarantine of individuals in cooperation with the local health departments, which includes virtual needs checks and referral to community resources. |

The Citizen Preparedness Corps Training gives an overview on how to prepare for natural & man-made disasters, and how to respond to and recover from them. The Pillowcase Project (for children in grades 3 through 5) teaches safety and emotional coping skills, as well as the importance of personal preparedness.

Touro Law School is offering a free helpline to assist with a wide range of legal issues arising from the COVID-19 epidemic. Go to their website to fill out the intake form. A volunteer attorney and/or law student will be in touch with you during their hours: Monday-Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Touro will provide community members with assistance or referrals on issues including landlord-tenant, civil liberties, bankruptcy, employee rights, unemployment, stimulus payment, insurance, and more.

Scam-Reporting Hotline The Suffolk County Police Department has established a new hotline aimed at investigating and tracking scams, including emerging COVID-19 schemes. Suffolk County residents can call 631-852-SCAM (7226) to report any scam attempts.
|
|
Information provided will be vetted by a police officer and transferred to the Criminal Intelligence Unit to track trends. Depending on the information reported, a victim may be contacted by precinct detectives or Financial Crimes Unit detectives to conduct a follow-up investigation. If you experience any scams, be sure to report them!
