Extreme Reader 2020 Prizes
They are finally here!

Prizes have been mailed. Thank you so much for your patience. If you completed the 2020 Extreme Reader challenge, keep an eye on your mailbox for your prize. If you don't see it arrive in the next week or so, please send us an email.

Reciprocal Agreement Update
Great news! As of March 29, TPL has a new reciprocal agreement with Seattle Public Library. This means that TPL cardholders are now eligible to apply for a library card from Seattle Public Library to get even more fantastic library resources!

Interested in a book for an Extreme Reader category but can't find it at TPL?

Here are a few options:
  • Reciprocal Agreement: Consider getting a library card from one of the local systems that we have a reciprocal agreement with. This allows you to access even more free eBook titles in Libby too!
TPL currently has reciprocal relationships with these neighboring library systems:
  • Seattle Public Library
  • King County Library System
  • Pierce County Library System
  • Puyallup Public Library
  • Suggest for Purchase: We can often purchase titles that you request. Let us know what you’d like! This helps us provide an even more diverse collection of books that reflect the needs of our community.

Extreme Reader Staff Profile

Hi. I'm JoLyn, one of the members of the Extreme Reader staff team. Here are a few facts about me:
  • If I had to pick one genre as my favorite, I couldn't. I think my top two are Historical Fiction and Romantic Comedies. My schooling focused on Victorian British Literature.
  • My favorite candy is Reese's Pieces.
  • I have an embarrassingly large collection of Strawberry Shortcake memorabilia.
Here are a few (more) facts about me:
  • My favorite color is orange.
  • I’m an expert at roasting marshmallows. (No flaming ‘mallows for me)
  • I like to collect hobbies, so I am fairly okay at knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, macrame, hand lettering, etc., but a master of none.

Some of my personal suggestions for 2021 categories:
A book with a metallic cover
Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
A book with a book on the cover
The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Hamel
A book set in a city that has hosted the Olympics
The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary

Some (more) of my personal suggestions for 2021 categories:
A book with a person’s name in the title
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbery
A book set on a mode of transportation
Shipped by Angie Hockman
A book that takes place during the 1920s
(teen) Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen
