RESOURCE SPOTLIGHT
Amigurumi, AmiguWHAT?
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. You can learn all about it by visiting CreativeBug, our database for people who like to create beautiful things:
https://www.creativebug.com/?org=bozemanlibrary
Here you can find instructions on how to crochet delightful little radishes, eggplants and a cute little fox.
If you would rather learn from a book, we have a large selection of Amigurumi books, like the Zoomigurumi series. You can find those on the second floor under Dewey number 746.434.

Mark your calendars now and check our events page again soon for details.
KIDS
Storytime Outside
Storytime continues outside on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:00am
All programs are weather permitting.
We meet on the East side of the Library near the bridge to Lindley Park.

Join us on Wednesdays at 10 AM for a 0-3 toddler program that includes stories, songs, movement activities and some other surprises for our younger crowd!

Our Friday Storytime is designed for the preschool crowd, but all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.  We will read some great picture books, sing silly songs, chant rhymes, and create some art for about 30 to 40 minutes.  Join us!

All abilities are welcome. For disability accommodations, call (406) 582-2404 2-3 days before a program.
Please bring a blanket to sit on.
Read to a Dog
Intermountain Therapy Dogs are available to be read to by kids through the Read to a Dog program each Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 to 5:00PM.   Families can register for a private 10-minute time slot at the Student Corner in the Children's Library.  Studies have shown that reading to an animal encourages reluctant reader and increases children' self-esteem.
Please join us!
Be a NASA Detective
Partnering with NASA, the Bozeman Public Library has a hands-on educator kit available for checkout: Be a NASA Solar System Detective. The kit is suitable for small groups with an adult educator following the facilitation guide. Supplies are included and lessons cover identifying meteorites, coding through programming a “rover”, and using infrared thermometers.  The kit is reservable through our online catalog by searching NASA STEAM KIT. For more information, please call the Children’s Desk at 582-2404.
Books and Babies
Tuesdays & Thursdays at 10 AM, on the Library's front lawn (weather permitting)
Join for a short series of songs, fingerplays and movement with your little one. Ages 0-2 with caregivers- older siblings are welcome! Free playtime encouraged afterwards on the lawn or in adjacent natural playground area. A great way to connect with other families!
Chess Club
Chess Club is on Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:00 PM outside the Main Library entrance (weather permitting, in case of poor weather meeting in the small conference room.)
Find other chess players to challenge or just to practice with other kids. All ages and abilities are welcome to come and play!
TEENS

Art gallery submissions can count towards volunteer/community service hours too.  More details and submission guidelines can be found here:
