Wild Mountain Thyme: Celtic Christmas Concert

Wild Mountain Thyme, which includes Brenda Miller and Chuck Flaim, has performed as a duo throughout the tri-state area for 13 years. Their repertoire consists of Celtic, old time, folk, gospel, Americana, rock, and classic music performed on various combinations of the following musical instruments: mountain dulcimer, hammer dulcimer, Irish penny whistle, bowed psaltery, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and cajon. Chuck Flaim was the 2012 Kentucky State Mountain Dulcimer Champion and finished runner-up on four other occasions. In 2012, Chuck also finished tied for 11th place at the National Dulcimer Competition.One of the prettiest types of music played on these instruments is Christmas music. Whether a traditional hymn or carol is played, seasonal sounds from this genre are beautiful, awe-inspiring, and uplifting. Celtic and Americana renditions have long been part of our holiday heritage and we look forward to sharing these sounds with library patrons.
