Good afternoon, The Amityville Public Library Board of Trustees, together with the library administration and staff, request that the voters decide on a proposed operating budget of $3,410,712.  The Amityville Library Board of Trustees has opted to hold a second vote for the 2024-2025 Library Operating Budget. The vote will take place at the library today, Tuesday, June 18th between 12:00pm and 9:00pm. While the actual cost of operating the library is only increasing by 2%, the Board is aware that this budget contains a line item of $276,887 which is a portion of the debt service for the library renovation project which was approved by the community on November 15, 2022. The project has begun, and the Board looks forward to sharing the progress of the new library with the community. We encourage all Amityville residents to review that information and contact our Director, Todd Schlitt, with any questions regarding the proposal. We also encourage all eligible Amityville residents to visit the library on June 18 and vote! Thank you! |
