Booklist Review
Reality TV star and lifestyle-brand maven Cavallari (True Roots, 2018) delivers on her title's promise of cozy comfort food in this splashy, easy-to-follow cookbook focusing on whole food ingredients and rich flavors, with many recipes hearkening to her Southern roots. While claims of "health food" may be a bit overdone, Cavallari's ingredient palate is decidedly crunchy, and does tend toward lean proteins, lots of in-season produce, and local and organic options, and generally avoids gluten. The cookbook is organized by meal, including drinks and "staple" recipes, and offers both family-friendly fare (slow-cooker lasagna) and more daring options (bison and manchego-stuffed artichokes) that are sure to please a wide range of diners. Fans of Cavallari will delight at the glimpse into her home life (before the recently announced split with football star Jay Cutler, who features in both the text and photos) with ample mentions of her family favorites and her personal approaches to food.Author notes provided by Syndetics
