Hi Tumblr,
What’s the best way to tag a video that contains flashing lights? Is tagging flashing lights and eyestrain sufficient or are there other commonly used tags that will help folks filter?

🌹 What live author would you invite over for tea?
Kate DiCamillo! I’ve written a couple letters to her over the years and she’s always written back! I love her books and I feel like she’d have some great things to say.
we're a queer digital library, by & for the LGBTQ+ community
Our Mission: Queer Liberation Library fights to build a vibrant, flourishing queer future by connecting LGBTQ+ people with literature, information, and resources that celebrate the unique and empowering diversity of our community.

QLL launched on October 23rd, 2023, and are currently accepting membership applications on an ongoing basis! Please note we are a US-based organization and are currently only able to make our library available to patrons in the USA. If we are ever able to expand internationally we promise to shout the news from our proverbial rooftops <3
we’re a 501(c)3 non-profit, and are currently funded entirely by donations - you can support our mission by donating here.
REMINDER: It is also a good and important thing to support your local libraries! Get a library card! Use their services! They are probably have WAYYYY more stuff than you think.
Public libraries often have, in addition to books and e-books:
* Access to databases and research tools, such as genealogy, Consumer Reports, GED/test prep, and home/vehicle repairs
* Computers, printers, scanners, fax machines, copy machines, and many even have things like 3d printers! These are all typically either free (to an extent) or VERY LOW COST to use.
* CDs, DVDs, MP3s, and other movies and music! Sometimes you can even download and KEEP songs, FOR FREE. LEGALLY.
* Individual 1x1 help with things like researching, finding books, setting up email, even sometimes stuff like submitting job applications.
* Public libraries are one of the ONLY places you can still go, and hang out, and just exist, FOR FREE.
I enormously appreciate and support the Queer Liberation Library for providing greater access to queer fiction, esp for folks who may not be able to find much through their local libraries. And, it is a supplement, and not replacement for, public libraries. 💞
yes, absolutely. whenever we’ve had a chance to talk about it we say we are a complement or supplement to public libraries who are all also out there doing amazing work with limited resources <3

Nothing quite like picking up your holds at the library 🥰
[ID: Librarian at desk: Hello, oh I think your holds are ready
Another librarian hands her a few books
Patron off-screen: Thank you! Oh, I did not want that one.
Librarian: Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.

“I can’t emphasize enough how everyone's COVID-19 experience is valuable,” AFC Director Nicole Saylor said. “It’s worth preserving. It doesn’t matter your zip code, your community, whether you contracted it. Everyone has a story.”
Hard to believe it has been almost four years since the pandemic shutdown.
according to goodreads i just finished reading my 300th ebook from the library 🥰 thank you library for allowing me to read 300 books without leaving my house
A sweet dedication

I’ve seen yards with “I ❤️ library” signs and I was wondering how do I get such a sign?
We gave those out as a National Library Week promo last year - and we are thrilled to report that they will return in 2024!
These stylish indicators of good taste will be coming to every LCPL branch beginning the week of April 7 and we’ll give them away until we run out.
They’re free - all you have to do is visit a branch and ask. Mark your calendar!
Do you have any tattoos? ⚓️ I have a bunch, so I was very excited to come across these 19th century tattoo flash books in the Winterthur Library – and they’re digitized! You can see them here 📚
