Hello and Happy Pride Month!

We've got summer on our mind. It's basically upon us, and we've been waiting so long... but also, how is it summer already? As of today, social distancing is not required in the Library -- but masks are for the time being. Our hours have expanded, and we're feeling... normal?

We're gearing up for a couple big events, including our very first online auction, and a robust 2021 Summer Reading Challenge, "Reading Colors Your World" -- not just for kiddos and young adults!

Before you dive in to this month's newsletter, we also wanted to take a moment to extend our most heartfelt T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U to our community, who recently voted to approve our FY 2022 budget. Your support means the world.

In serious summer vibes and with much affection,

York Public Library

PS We have happily welcomed some new staff to our team, and you'll be seeing some new faces at the Circulation Desk! Please remember to bring your Library Card when you're checking out!

YPLA's First Annual Auction, June 17-25
The York Public Library Association's First Annual Online Auction kicks off June 17!  Bid on fine art, exciting excursions, local dining, exquisite handcrafted jewelry, home décor, weekend getaways, and much, much more, to support Library programming.

Each year, the York Public Library Association supplements the Library’s budget to help YPL provide services for the community and be the best library we can be for our town.  Particularly during COVID, but also on an ongoing basis, we have offered opportunities for town residents of all ages to become informed, to be entertained, and to gather virtually (and soon, in-person!) to discuss important civic or otherwise relevant issues. Your support goes a long way--thank you.

Readers have from Saturday, June 26 until Saturday, August 7, 2021 to log their reading, earn 100 points, and complete the Challenge.
