IT'S 2025! 🎉
Apparently only 3 in 10 Americans made resolutions in 2024. On average, just 9% keep their resolutions throughout the year. But if you've made a resolution this year, we want to help!
If your resolution is to read more, we are a rather good resource to help you achieve your goal. Though 79% of New Year's goals involve improving health. If your goal is to exercise more, we can totally help with that, too! We have a weekly walking club. And yoga classes. And, at the end of the month, MINI-GOLF. While golfing—in a library—may not get your heart pumping per se, it's bound to release those feel-good neurotransmitters everyone talks about, and make your brain and spirit very happy.
We hope to be an important part of your year—whether you're crushing goals or simply enjoying the ride. Libraries are here for everyone.
Happy New Year from all of us at YPL! |

Community Collects Art Exhibit: Rosalind "Roz" Fedeli
Exhibition Opening on Tuesday, January 14 at 5:00 PM
Every year the Library mounts an art show called "Community Collects." This show features one or more well-known local artists from the past. Collections from the area generously lend pieces from their personal collections during this three-month long exhibit. Between January and March 2025 we will be celebrating the life and art of Rosalind Fedeli. "Roz" was not only a wonderful artist, but a beloved member of the York community and longstanding member of the Ogunquit Art Association.

Aging, dying, and death are blanketed by misconceptions socially constructed within our society. These misconceptions, often viewed as truth or reality, tend to limit our access to opportunities and create barriers that affect our thinking, communication, and action. Time to step over that body! This session will dispel some misconceptions and pave a path for effective communication to support action throughout our aging processes and at end of life ~ whenever that may be.
Dr. Marilyn R. Gugliucci, MA, Ph.D. is Professor & Director, Geriatrics Education and Research, Division of Geriatrics, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and President of the Gerontological Society of America. |
