You're Invited: the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge Starts Saturday, June 13! |
This year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme is Plant a Seed, Read! Gardens grow food, and libraries grow ideas. Both help us flourish!
You may recognize the Challenge artwork, which features characters from Jory John and Pete Oswald’s popular Children's book series, including The Bad Seed, The Good Egg, The Cool Bean, and more. Their lovable produce-inspired characters have become favorites of young readers (and librarians!) everywhere.
Join us on June 13 for our Summer Reading Kick-Off Party! We'll celebrate with country-fair-style games, dwarf goats (!!), and more as you register for the Challenge and pick up your official Challenge Activity Log. It's everything you need to launch your summer in one fun-filled afternoon!
The Challenge lasts 8 weeks (last day August 8) and you can register / pick up the Activity Log for your age group at any time. Your log will include a fun shape to decorate however you like; return it to the library and it will become part of a community art display!
Whether you're planting in the soil or turning pages, great things grow when you start with a seed. |
