What Does the New CDC Eviction Moratorium Mean? In areas of the U.S. where COVID-19 transmission rates are high, the CDC has extended the moratorium (or pause) on evictions through October 3, 2021. This includes Clark County. However, this pause does not prevent a landlord from starting the eviction process by serving you an eviction notice. If you receive an eviction notice, and do not respond by filing paperwork with the court in a timely manner (which could be as little as five days), you could be locked out of your home. For free assistance: - Visit LACSN.org/evictionhelp to view the necessary steps that tenants must take to seek protection from being evicted.
- If you have questions, or have been locked out of your home, call Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada at 702.386.1070, then select option 1.
