Celebrate Berkeley’s culinary heritage with the Library’s Farm to Shelf program series! Cookbook author, educator and Charlie Cart Project founder Carolyn Federman will demonstrate making a pesto from healthy ingredients and answer questions in a Q&A after the demonstration.

More about Carolyn: she is the founder and Director of the Charlie Cart Project, a nonprofit bringing hands-on food and nutrition education to scale in schools, libraries and other community hubs. Prior to Charlie Cart, Carolyn worked in food education for more than a decade, with such food advocacy pioneers as Alice Waters, Jamie Oliver and Michael Pollan. Carolyn is proudly raising two teenagers in Berkeley, California. She is the author of New Favorites for New Cooks: 50 Delicious Recipes for Kids to Make (2018).
