Children's Author Talk: Kevin Noble Maillard, author of Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story

The Berkeley Public Library is pleased and honored to welcome Kevin Noble Maillard, award-winning author of the picture book Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story. This author talk and reading is for kids ages 3-6 and their adults, and is in observance of Native American Heritage Month.

Kevin Maillard is the debut author of Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story, a picture book illustrated by Juana Martinez-Neal, which won the Sibert Medal and the American Indian Youth Literature Honor. He is a law professor at Syracuse University and contributor to the New York Times who lives with his family in Manhattan. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and received a PhD in Political Theory from the University of Michigan. Originally from Oklahoma, he is an enrolled citizen of the Seminole Nation.
