Celebrate Poetry in April
National Poetry Month was established in April 1996 as a way to celebrate “poets’ integral role in our culture and that poetry matters.” Since its inception, it has become an international literary celebration with tens of millions of people marking poetry’s important place in our lives. The library has a number of free programs throughout the month to mark the occasion.

Meet the new Santa Clara County Poet Laureate Yosimar Reyes at one of three upcoming programs. Reyes will share his journey as a poet and his presentation will dive deep into the cultural wealth of queer and immigrant communities. Please register to attend these programs.
