A December to Remember SCCLD is offering a month full of holiday magic! Our Kid’s Art Club is offering great events in the coming weeks. Make snowflake crafts with us on Tuesday, December 1 at 4 p.m. Join us again on December 15 as we make snowman holiday cards. These videos will be available on Facebook. We are also hosting special live events. Happy Bright Kids will present their Holiday Puppet Show on Wednesday, December 2. Register to watch this performance on Zoom or join us on Facebook. Can’t make it at that time? It will be available on Facebook for another week. Traveling Lantern Theatre Company is back on Monday, December 14 with a special performance, The Story of Ebenezer Scrooge. Please register to save your virtual spot. Automatic Renewal of Library Materials
We are pleased to announce a new service to provide convenience and peace of mind. Starting Tuesday, December 1, eligible borrowed physical materials that have more copies available than holds will be automatically renewed for an additional three weeks. New Teen Program Launch The Santa Clara Youth Poet Laureate program is designed to inspire, teach, and select the very first official Santa Clara County Youth Poet Laureate. This is a youth-centered program to celebrate literacy through poetry and connect young writers to opportunities for performances and community collaborations. The program will officially launch on Friday with a Teen Open Mic event hosted by current Santa Clara County Poet Laureate Janice Sapigao. Teens interested in sharing their performance of music, poetry, comedy, or drama can sign up now. Apply here to become the very first Santa Clara County Youth Poet Laureate.

SED Talks for Teens We invite teens to join us on Saturday for the SED Talks for Teens: Overcoming Obstacles. Saratoga’s Youth Commission and Saratoga Library’s Teen Advisory Board will present three short TED-style presentations with Jill Henderson, the Founder of Life Launch, Dr. Daniel Eisenberg of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and a Saratoga High School student. Join the Library with an Instant Free eCard If you live in Santa Clara County and do not have a library card with the Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD), or would like additional household members to have their own library accounts, the instant free eCard is for you. On a temporary basis during the COVID-19 crisis, eCards are available to all residents who live within Santa Clara County with a valid residential mailing address (P.O. Box not accepted).
