April is Distracted Driving Month County officials have launched a campaign to bring attention to the dangers of distracted driving. Every glance away from the road, every second lost in thought, and every distraction that pulls our attention away from driving risks not just our future but the futures of everyone around us. April is “Distracted Driving Awareness Month” and the County of Santa Clara Emergency Medical Services are working to increase awareness about distracted driving. The campaign asks drivers to pledge to focus on the road, silence the distractions, and speak up for safety by encouraging friends and family to also take the pledge and commit to focused driving. Learn more about the campaign.

In 1956, the Santa Clara County Parks Department was established to manage the County Park system, which now encompasses 28 parks and 52,000 acres.
