Fall into a New Season at the Library Fall officially starts on Wednesday, but the season is slowly making its presence more apparent. The air is crisp in the morning, the sun sets earlier and earlier each day, and the leaves are ever so slightly beginning to change colors. This is a wonderful time of year to explore. Check out one of these travel guides to plan a quick getaway and be sure to visit our Santa Clara County Parks to enjoy watching the seasons change. It's never too early to start planning your next adventure with some inspiration from a travel book. Create seasonal home décor, some simple crafts or find new knitting and crocheting designs and patterns using our free service, CreativeBug. Cook up hearty comfort food with these digital cookbooks, or enjoy the last bit of summer with recipes to create frozen treats. Make sure to keep an eye on our online calendar. We've got some upcoming Master Gardener classes to help you with your garden.

Postponed Hours Expansion Santa Clara County Library District staff are County employees and called upon to serve as Disaster Service Workers as needed. In preparation for third COVID vaccinations and the FDA approving the vaccination for 5-11 year olds, additional library staff are called upon each week to serve the County in this critical role to work at the many COVID vaccination and testing centers, as contact tracers, in the Emergency Operation Center, and much more. As a result, we are not able to expand hours on September 20 as planned. All of our libraries are open to the public for full browsing, computer and printer use, and services. The Library District will continue to provide quality library resources and services to our community within the current service hours, Monday through Saturday at all of our library locations. We apologize the hours expansion has been postponed, but know it is because our valuable library staff are serving the highest level need in the County -- protecting our communities from COVID. We will post any new updates here. Thank you for your understanding.
