Finals Week Help Students may be cramming for finals ahead of the winter break. The library has resources to help them succeed. Saratoga Library is opening up its Community Room to students who want somewhere to study. Come by on December 8 and 15 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., or December 14 from 12:30 – 6 p.m. to meet friends and study in a relaxed environment. Snacks and hot chocolate will be provided. Students can drop in, registration is not necessary. The Morgan Hill Library’s Teen Advisory Board will be giving out Exam Essentials Kits, while supplies last. Middle and high school students can stop by the Morgan Hill Library’s Teen Area December 16 – 18 from 3:30 – 9 p.m. Kits include study supplies, snacks and other goodies to help you focus and de-stress. Can’t make it to the library? Try our online resource, Brainfuse HelpNow, for free online tutoring and homework help. Students can get help on any subject with a tutor from 1 – 10 p.m. any day of the week.

Binge on Hallmark Holiday Movies! Great news for fans of Hallmark and Hoopla! You can stream Hallmark movies and TV series in your browser using our eResource, Hoopla. In fact, the Hallmark premium collection is available as a 7-day BingePass. A BingePass is a collection of books, movies, magazines, etc. that can be borrowed together as a whole for 7 days. Log in with your Hoopla account and select "BingePasses" from the Browse menu to check them out! The Hallmark+ BingePass gives you access to not just holiday movies, but also cozy mystery series, rom-coms, drama, and more. Enjoy feel-good shows all year round with full seasons of your favorite Hallmark original TV series, or create a personal watchlist of movies. If you need more than 7 days, no worries! Holiday Safety Workshop According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), December is the leading month for home fires, in part due to the holidays. Many of the fires are started from Christmas trees, decorations, candles, and cooking as the leading cause of reported home fires. The Milpitas Library is hosting a holiday fire safety workshop on Thursday, December 12 at 7 p.m. Topics include safe cooking tips, fire extinguisher use, fire suppression blanket use and a Q&A safety session.
