Celebrating Libraries and Library Workers
National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. Support your library by stopping by this week and enjoying everything it has to offer! This year’s theme is "Drawn to the Library."

From Monday to Thursday, we will highlight several aspects on our Facebook and Instagram pages:

Monday, April 7: Right to Read Day is a day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend, and celebrate the right to read. The American Library Association (ALA) kicks off National Library Week with the release of its State of America's Libraries Report, including the list of Top Ten Most Challenged Books.

Tuesday, April 8: National Library Workers Day is a day to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.

Wednesday, April 9: National Library Outreach Day is a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting patrons where they are. See our story below about upcoming Bookmobile visits.

Thursday, April 10: Take Action for Libraries Day is a day to rally advocates to support libraries. Learn about our library support groups and donate here. With the threat to cut federal money to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) which funds critical library services nationwide, it is important to stay informed and take action to advocate for all libraries.

Students in TK-Grade 12 are invited to take part in Santa Clara County Parks Youth Art Contest. Participants can illustrate how you would use solar energy to power our Santa Clara County Parks or illustrate what Earth Day means to you.
