A Time to be Thankful

The Thanksgiving holiday is in a week and a half. This is the time of year to appreciate the blessings in life and show gratitude for what we have. Here at SCCLD, we are thankful for your continued support and patronage. It is a pleasure to serve you and our communities.

The library can help you prepare for the upcoming holiday. Our online resource Creativebug offers unlimited access to more than 1,000 online art and craft classes. Topics include art and design, sewing, quilting, paper, crochet, food and home, jewelry, holiday and party, even classes for kids! Another resource, New York Times Cooking, is an inspiring cooking guide, an interactive kitchen tool, and diverse recipe collection that helps home cooks of every level.

Students will be on Thanksgiving break soon. If you are looking for free ways to keep them entertained (or you need a break as well!), stop by for craft sessions in our libraries. Some of our libraries are also hosting film screenings that are free to the public. Check out our full calendar of events.

As November is National Native American Heritage Month, we invite you to explore our video service, Kanopy, for Native American Heritage films. Also find eBooks for kids, teens, and adults using OverDrive or Hoopla.

We wish you a wonderful holiday season.
